NCIS for iPhone and iPod Touch!
Many people love to watch crime series and some of them are probably very fond of NCIS, formerly known as NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service. These series treat the occasions of a fictional team of special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. This team prosecutes criminal investigations that involve the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. The cases are high profiled, very interesting and exiting, but also the special team that conducts them is consisted from special agents with strong and very well built characters. The leader of the team is the Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, former Gunnery Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. He has experienced a tragedy when his wife and daughter were killed while in the protection of NIS. Special Agent Tony DiNozzo, is a former police officer and Gibbs considers him as a younger version of himself. Here is charming Abigail "Abby" Sciuto who is a Gothic forensics specialist, Timothy McGee - the computer hacker, Ziva David – former solder in
the Israeli Army whose sister was killed in a Hamas terrorist suicide attack when she was sixteen….
Many times the people who watch this kind of TV series ask them selves how will it be if they were on the crime scene, if they take a part of the Gibbs's team, picking up evidences, solving cases… But now this is possible, thanks to the video games. NCSI or more preciously "NCIS: The Game from the TV Show" is a new game in the list of iPod touch games and iPhone touch games.
This game appeared one month ago and it's picking up good reviews, so far. It's about some kind of extended "hidden object game" divide in 5 exciting cases (games), developed with the show's creative team. The player is a part of the team, goes at the crime scene, collects evidence, brings the results in a lab and explores them and stakes out potential suspects. The actions are pretty realistic so the "agent", does the same things as the characters in the series. In a serial of mini games, he does matching fingerprints, reconstructing chemical substances, and even autopsies. He can entrance in Abby's lab to create toxicology reports or in Ducky's lab to examine corpses for wounds and patterns.
For many players, one of the more interesting parts of the game is when the player takes interrogation. He is able to choose weather he'll be aggressive, neutral or friendly and the goal is to get the suspects to their breaking point. If he chooses a wrong tactic, the case will go in a wrong way, so he must find the right one.
The design and graphics are pretty good, characters look realistic and there's no problem identifying them. The music and sound are well integrated with the gameplay and scenes as well, so the great fun is guaranteed.
